Scrubs, Hospital Attire and Drapes for Sensitive Environments
Madaline® is a new product for sensitive environments, being comfortable, multiple-use and a high-performance fabric. It can be used for scrubs, hospital attire and privacy drapes. Its dense structure of very fine microfilaments creates micro-channels, making it breathable but impervious to microorganisms, thereby Madaline® is an ideal fabric for sensitive health conscious environments. Both comfort and protection are achieved with Madaline®. The fabric is strong, soft and smooth surfaced, breathable, lint-free and low pilling due to its endless microfilaments, micro-channels and nylon content. Madaline® providing comfort by breathing and dissipating moisture vapor rapidly. It also ensures protection as a barrier against the passage of bacteria and other contaminants into the environment. Madaline® filters bacteria at an efficiency of 94.5%. Additionally, being a lint-free and shed-free fabric, no particle contamination of the environment occurs.
Medical use may require the fabric to be repellent and avoid fluid penetration in minor surgery. Madaline® is inherently a barrier against fluids and additional treatment makes Madaline® blood resistant. With Madaline® health care’s technically needs and requirements are realized.
Madaline® is more cost-effective scrub and drape material compared to single-use disposable fabrics because it is a multi-use fabric which can be washed at 95°C and maintains its shape and performance requirements even after multiple washes. Its high multi-directional strength guards against puncture and tear and Madaline® has the flexibility to meet wide a variety of privacy draping needs.
Multiple-use Madaline® is not only more economical but, most importantly, Madaline® has less environmental impact than disposable fabrics. In addition to being reusable and creating less waste, Madaline® is also lint-free therefore, washing Madaline® does not release filament particle residue into the wash-water which invariably enters waterways and eventually the food-chain.
Biomedical textiles in conformance with EN 13795 is a rapidly growing field in the technical textiles market and Madaline® is an excellent material to capture significant shares in this market for scrubs, medical clothing and barrier fabrics segment
